Literature Text

Oh Morpheus you coy

brother to death, hiding your gifts

from me, and letting me not

rest.

Why do you work so hard

and grant so many

dreams to delight

but instead you

let me lie here

awake

day and night.

Dreams not dancing

in my head,

nor my eye closed  for

long as I lay down.

My bed unmade, a place

to merely recline

for long moments

of frustration and

weary worrying

of the world, outside

Why must you and your

brothers, from me hide.

No, no him, Thanatos,

I do not wish to see.

But Hypnos, Somnos,

and you Morpheus

just you

three.
I can barely hold open my eyes, but cannot sleep and rest. It\'s sad. So this lament must be shared.
